Carbon Sulphur Analyzer
With the growing momentum of the Make in India initiative, Paragraphe Studio was engaged by BARC's Analytical Chemical Division (ACD) to package an indigenously developed technology. The goal was to design a cost-effective yet aesthetic and ergonomic Carbon Sulphur Analyzer to compete with high-cost imports from China and the US.
Our scope included creating a visually appealing, user-friendly design while engineering an innovative lid-opening mechanism that seamlessly concealed the existing one, enhancing the machine's overall aesthetics and functionality.

Form
The form is designed with simplicity and approachability in mind. To reduce the boxy appearance, large fillets are incorporated along the sides, creating a compact and inviting look.
A subtle 3-degree taper on the top adds character and dynamism, breaking the monotony of a traditional boxy design.
Material
Fiberglass was used for the machine covers, while the front door was crafted from 1.5 mm CRCA steel to endure the furnace's high temperatures. The chassis, made from 25 mm square pipe, balances structural strength with lightweight efficiency.
Materials were selected based on the client’s budget and production requirements.
Colour
Neutral tones like white and grey were selected to help the machine blend seamlessly into its environment.
The grey, specifically Bhabha Grey, was chosen to reflect the organization's identity while maintaining an understated aesthetic.
Finish
Fiberglass components were painted with durable automotive-grade Duco paint, while the CRCA steel sheet was powder-coated with a matte texture.
These finishes enhance durability and lend a refined, professional appearance.
